On behalf of Eldercare Foundation’s Board of Directors and Staff Team, we extend our sincere gratitude for the compassionate care you provide to seniors every day. As s small token of our thanks, we invite you to enter a draw to win a beautiful gift basket valued at $150 from Gigi’s Gifts. You can also get an extra draw and double your chances when you share a story about the positive impact you have seen thanks to Eldercare donors.
We are here to support staff like you in delivering care to LTC residents and Adult Day Program and Respite clients.
Need help? Just ask! In return, we ask for your support in gathering stories and photos. Why? Because when we can tell a compelling story about the impact donor support makes, we can raise more funds and support even more local seniors. By staff request
From adaptive clothing to art supplies, robotic companion pets to ice cream days, Eldercare funds care enhancements and tools that improve quality of life for LTC residents and help support staff, too!
Says Amie Aniban, Rehab Assistant at Aberdeen care home:
“Not all our programs and enhancements can be accommodated by our budget, which is a little black and white. Eldercare gives us added colour. Knowing we have their support allows us to think outside of the box. It’s like watching a painting come to life!”
By manager (or therapy coordinator) request
Eldercare funds a range of items from bathtubs and BBQs, door skins and Duet bikes, fish tanks and furniture.
This past fall, Eldercare purchased new specialty powered mattresses for several long-term care homes, providing enhanced comfort, safety, and much-needed relief.
“Thank you to all Eldercare donors for making this possible,” says Carlijn Van Os, occupational therapist at the Priory care home. “These mattresses are a game-changer for resident comfort—a truly welcome gift!”
By social work team request
Support for residents with financial barriers in need of vital personal care and quality of life items is available through our Resident-in-Need Fund.
Colin, a resident at the Summit, was thrilled to receive a few new Carhartt hoodies – his favourite kind, thanks to donors of Eldercare’s Resident-in-Need. Says Jonathan Leland, a social worker who works with Colin:
“Clothing is an important form of personal expression. It’s one of the ways that people can express their uniqueness and be comfortable in how they present themselves to the world. I’m so grateful for the Resident-in-Need fund because it gives our residents a chance to reclaim their individuality – and everyone deserves that.”
