Our Mission
Helping seniors live well—wherever they call home
Eldercare Foundation helps seniors age with dignity, safety, and connection by focusing on three key areas: aging in place, long-term care, and education.
Aging in place
Helping seniors remain safely at home
We fund programs that allow seniors to live independently for as long as possible like the SAFE (Specialized Assistance for Elders) program. This includes SAFE Lifeline, providing medical alert systems to those at high risk of falls or hospitalization, and SAFE Foot Care, offering specialized foot care for low-income, home-bound seniors. We also support adult day programs, mobile services, and respite care for family caregivers.
Long-term care
Enhancing care and comfort in long-term facilities
We help provide equipment, therapy programs, and special touches—gardens, music and holiday celebrations—that improve daily life for residents in long-term care. With over 850 seniors living in supported facilities across Vancouver Island, we work to ensure each person feels safe, seen, and supported.
Education & Research
Investing in knowledge to improve senior care
We fund bursaries, scholarships, and awards for students and professionals whose work enhances the lives of older adults. Through the Yakimovich Wellness Centre, we also provide free education to caregivers and the public.
