Coastal Community Insurance Services shares donation to program for seniors in Duncan

Thanks to a generous $500 donation from Coastal Community Insurance Services, the adult day programs at Waldon House in Duncan are a little bit closer to their goal of enhancing outdoor spaces to offer even more to their participants.

Operated by Island Health, Waldon House provides a welcoming and engaging environment where older adults can maintain the skills, confidence, and social connections they need to continue living safely at home. At the same time, the program offers family caregivers valuable respite, giving them the opportunity to rest, recharge, and care for their own health and well-being.

“Receiving this donation from Coastal Community Insurance Services helps us get on the road to improving our outdoor spaces to provide stimulating enhancements for our adult day program participants,” says Karen Everitt, manager of community services at Waldon House. “The seniors who use these programs are so wonderful, and the staff at Waldon House want to bring them the very best they can.”

The donation is being administered through Eldercare Foundation, a registered charity that partners with Island Health to fund vital care, equipment, and education needs for seniors across Vancouver Island. Eldercare’s Executive Director Tom Arnold and Waldon House staff Shelley Taylor and Lesley Fry were delighted to accept the donation from Coastal Community Insurance Services representative Cheala Beck.

Tom Arnold shares, “It’s always an honour to be on hand for presentations like this, because we know how important every dollar is to the organizations we support. At Eldercare, we’re always glad to be a part of enhancing programs for seniors across Vancouver Island, wherever they call home.”

A heartfelt thank you to Coastal Community Insurance Services for this donation in support of Waldon House Adult Day Program.
