Event Schedule, Wednesday October 21:
Afternoon Show & Tell: 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. |
Annual General Meeting: 5:00 p.m. – 5:45 p.m. |
Evening Show & Tell: 5:45 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. |
Both events are being held on the same day as the Eldercare Foundation’s Annual General Meeting (AGM). If you are interested, you are warmly invited to join us for the AGM from 5:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. Attendance is entirely optional, and all guests are welcome.
Light refreshments and beverages will be available during both Show & Tell sessions.

ABBY is a Canadian-made interactive technology designed for people living with dementia in long-term care, using calming music and video along with personalized content and engagement options to enhance residents’ well-being and connection.
Touch2Play is an entertainment device designed for seniors and visitors that is easy to use and accessible. Residents can choose from a wide selection of games and activities, and the units can be easily moved using mobile carts.
OMI’s omiVista series delivers leading-edge, motion-activated projection technology that responds instantly to movement, gesture, and touch. Designed for users of all ages and abilities—especially individuals with cognitive decline, dementia, developmental disabilities, and those on the autism spectrum—omiVista provides highly engaging, therapeutic multisensory experiences.
The CRDL is a beautifully designed therapeutic instrument that transforms human touch into sound—responding to handholding, gentle strokes, taps, or playful tickles by sensing the natural electrical currents that flow through our bodies.
Companion pets provide comfort and companionship for seniors living with dementia and other life-limiting conditions. Designed to support both seniors and their caregivers, these pets can help reduce loneliness, anxiety, and depression without the demands of caring for a real animal.
Comfort Carts provide carefully selected items to offer comfort and support to older adults in emergency departments. Early comfort can contribute to improved safety and reduce challenges like falls, delirium, extended hospital stays, and avoidable transfers to long‑term care.
Getting to the Yakimovich Wellness Centre
The Yakimovich Wellness Centre is located within the Hillside Seniors Centre at 1454 Hillside Avenue in Victoria. There is pay parking available behind the building, and a limited amount of free, 2-hour parking on Gosworth Road at Hillside (one street towards Hillside Mall from the Centre).
The Centre is also easily accessed by bus. BC Transit Routes 4 and 9 stop immediately next to the Centre at stop numbers 100448 and 100442.
