Be Ready is an engaging\, hands on session that breaks preparedness down into four simple\, empowering steps: know the risks\, make a plan\, build a kit\, and build a network. \nThrough practical and accessible preparedness education\, participants learn how to better respond to disasters\, stay safe\, and strengthen community resilience before emergencies happen. \nThe session is led by Maria Chiarella\, Program Manager for Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster Risk Reduction at the Canadian Red Cross. With a background in sustainable forest management\, Maria is passionate about helping communities become more connected\, informed\, and resilient through education\, engagement\, and preparedness programming. \nJoining her is Kathleen Robertson\, Program Officer with the same team. Kathleen is from Sarnia\, Ontario\, and a member of the Aamjiwnaang First Nation\, an Anishnaabe (Ojibwe) First Nations Band.
