This presentation explores how older adults with cancer and their caregivers can work as partners to manage daily challenges\, communicate with healthcare teams\, and maintain independence and wellbeing. This presentation will focus on practical strategies that support both patients and those who care for them. \nWhat You’ll Learn: \n\nHow caregiving relationships shape cancer care and daily life for older adults\nPractical ways to improve communication\, coordination\, and shared decision-making\nStrategies to support safety\, emotional wellbeing\, and quality of life for both caregivers and older adults\n\nAbout the speaker: Dr. Kristen Haase\, RN\, PhD is an Associate Professor at the School of Nursing at UBC and an Affiliated Scientist at the BC Cancer Research Institute. Her research program centres on supporting older adults as they manage cancer\, chronic disease\, and wellbeing\, in domains of symptom science\, self-management\, and technology-enabled interventions. \nThis special presentation includes a Q & A and light refreshments will be served. \n
